This duvet cover was much darker than it appeared online. It's so dark, it's almost "burgundy." We chose this for our 11 year old daughter thinking it was lighter in color, but this is definitely a more elegant & sophisticated color than you'd want for a child's room. But she is using it regardless so hopefully it will "grow" with her. She does say it feels very soft and warm, so we're happy about that. But we have 600 thread-count sheets that are softer than this 1500-count one... Maybe this will soften more with a few more washes...
